The present example is No. 5, among the earliest issued. Signed at the colophon by Pierre Reverdy and Georges Braque. Richly illustrated with 27 original lithographs by Georges Braque, including 1 full-page color lithograph and 26 lithographs in black within the text, together with a lithographic cover composition and 12 full-page color litographs  after Braque’s paintings. Large folio format: 44.5 x 33.5 cm. Preserved in its original publisher’s cloth slipcase / case. One of the most desirable Braque illustrated books of the late 1940s, combining rarity, signatures, strong visual content, prestigious paper, and outstanding provenance as a deluxe French modernist edition.
